For the first time a CBD oil drug is approved under federal law

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration has announced that Epidolex produced by GW Pharma has been classified as a Schedule V drug. It is legal to sell in the United states. It is the only legal CBD oil on the market under the federal law.

The FDA has approved Epidolex this last summer to threat people with Dravet syndrome and Lennox-Gastaut syndrome. Both of them are rare and severe forms of epilepsy. Epidolex has proved to be effective in reducing epileptic seizures.

Now that Epidiolex has been approved by the FDA, the CBD oil has been classified as Schedule V. It means that the CBD oil is the lowest harmful, dangerous and addictive kind of drugs available on the market.

Many states has already passed individual laws for legalizing CBD oil. In Indiana law it is not allowed that consumers use CBD oil products that has a higher then .3% THC without a prescription. THC is an ingredient that can give the consumer a feeling of getting high. Epidolex only contains .1% and need to get a prescription.

CBD oil comes from the cannabis plant also known as marijuana. CBD will be extracted and purified from the cannabis plant. Because CBD has little to no THC into it you don’t get the feeling of getting “high”.
